New aud transfer of a great '73 show (kind of redundant eh?) Nice sound. Check out the source info on this one:

Source Tape:
Reel dubbed in 1979 by Will Boswell from Jerry Garcia's personal collection.
Original recording made by the sound crew at the soundboard. It is assumed
that the 1979 dub came direct off of the master. This is the same master
recording that is heard on shnid=6019, but casts that lineage into question
as this transfer is a clear upgrade.

Jerry liked the auds too!

Set 1

The Promised Land
They Love Each Other
Mexicali Blues
Tennessee Jed
Looks Like Rain
Bird Song
Cumberland Blues
Row Jimmy
Jack Straw
Deal
Beat It On Down The Line
Black Peter
Playing In The Band

Set 2

Greatest Story Ever Told
Ramble On Rose
El Paso
Dark Star ->
Eyes Of The World ->
Stella Blue
Sugar Magnolia

Encore
One More Saturday Night

The Darkstar>Eyes>Stella is obviously the highlight but don't skip the first set. TLEO '73 style is always worth a listen. I wish they hadn't changed the tempo on it. Since it was one of those tunes that Jerry did with the Dead and his solo bands I think he could have used different tempos with different projects. My favorite aud moment is after the Mexicali and Tenn Jed, someone yells out for El Paso. El Paso after Mexicali and TJ!?!? Well they get to it in the second set but that would have been a tough sequence. Row Jimmy, Cumberland and what sounds like a heavy-handed Bird Song are other highlights of the first set.

Arbuthnot also recommends the aud, hope you enjoy it Jim.

I am saving the darkstar for catching up on work later this evening, but the playin' reminds me of the Jazzy pleasures of '73. Good stuff.

very little my friend, very little.

Given all the stuff that is flying around here, I thought it might be time again to pollute this place with some show reviews. Single show reviews usually don't garner much attention which imo is one of the ironies of this place. People want it to be dead-related yet are more likely to comment to the more provocative posts. C'est la vie.

God knows, I am more guilty than most in that regard. Shame on me :(
